Where to Go on Bulgaria’s Northern Black Sea Coast, Part II
Small bays, memorable meals and places with character

Time for the second part of our tour of the northern Black Sea coast.
This selection brings together favourite quick bites, some of Varna’s best-known addresses, new restaurants, gyms and beach spots that impress us with their quality, flavour and atmosphere. There’s much more to this part of Bulgaria than lovely beaches. Think
small bays, places with character, good food and views
that stay in your memory long after you’ve put your phone away. Whether you’re planning a few days by the sea or looking for fresh travel ideas, here are more northern-coast addresses worth adding to your summer itinerary.

Next Level is one of Bulgaria’s fastest-growing fitness and wellness names. Its two Varna locations, New Wave and Retail Park, share the same approach: a workout should be a complete experience.
Spacious gyms, contemporary surroundings and the latest equipment
create a setting that would hold its own alongside major European fitness clubs. It feels like a thoroughly modern wellness club, encouraging both beginners and experienced gym-goers to push further. Recovery gets plenty of attention, too, because looking after yourself goes beyond the workout.

Find the charming Sundogs at 1 Mihail Koloni Street and you might feel you’ve wandered into a neighbourhood in Naples or Lisbon. We love it
for its artistic atmosphere and well-made food and drinks,
which keep us happily fed and refreshed on hot days. Set in an old building, its outdoor space is a favourite for coffee, live music in the evening or a cooling cocktail. We come for brunch and street-food favourites; the warm welcome keeps us coming back.

Some places look as though they were made for sunsets. The Bay is one of them. Right on the waterfront, it combines a beachside mood, Lebanese and Mediterranean cooking and one of the northern coast’s loveliest views.
Fresh seafood and meat dishes lead the menu,
with a wine selection to complement them. As the day unfolds, the atmosphere changes with it, moving from coffee to a memorable dinner and a glass of wine to finish. Go and find your favourite hour.

When almost everyone claims to make the best burgers, the challenge is finding somewhere that earns the boast with every order. UF Burgers & Sandwiches is a case in point. This Varna spot captures the easy-going spirit of contemporary street food, where
quality comes first.

Perched above a small bay in Sts Constantine and Helena, Villa Chinka Restaurant looks as though it has always belonged to the landscape. The sea is everywhere: through the windows, beyond the terraces, beside the restaurant and around the pool. But this has never been just about the view. Over the years, it has become one of the coast’s most compelling food destinations.
The restaurant draws guests well beyond those staying at the hotel,
with a seasonal menu shaped by the sea and the best of the region. Every visit feels like a special occasion, even when there isn’t one.

In a beautiful century-old house opposite Varna’s Sea Garden, Domat na Stroitelya is enjoying its second summer as a favourite for meeting friends, family gatherings and long evenings. Its location is a considerable advantage:
the sea is just a few minutes away,
while the cool green garden, homely atmosphere, good food and unmistakable Varna spirit provide the ingredients for happy memories. It’s a reminder that the best places have a personality of their own and stay true to it.

Verdi Beach

Verdi Beach gets full marks from us. In Sts Constantine and Helena, it combines everything that makes the northern coast appealing: calm, space and the possibility of properly relaxing. Comfort sits easily within the natural seaside setting. Families, couples, groups of friends and anyone after a few peaceful hours by the water can all find their place here.
There’s room for everyone to find their own pace
and favourite view of the horizon. Verdi’s strongest suit is its atmosphere, which reminds you to slow down and enjoy where you are. The sea is quite enough. As sunset approaches, the blue expanse becomes the backdrop to the end of the day. That’s our idea of paradise.

A finalist in the previous Go Seaside Awards and a longstanding favourite, Pechkata is drawing us back once again.
Its spacious summer courtyard feels wonderfully carefree, with the season served up on every plate.
The kitchen sends out honest food made with care every day. Inspiration comes from familiar favourites: flatbreads, lightly pickled cucumbers, fish soup with homemade salamuriya dressing and fresh pan-fried fish. This friendly courtyard has kept growing over the years, adding music nights and experiences worth remembering.

At Efe, home-style food made with care is what matters. Known for its seafood and Eastern-inspired recipes, it offers character, tradition and comfort in generous portions. Expect authentic spices and
dishes that tell stories from beyond the border.
Familiar aromas, fresh seafood and attention to detail make each visit a small journey for the senses. Efe stays true to itself, and its best recommendation is the feeling of eating at home, with the sound of the waves thrown in.

Staria Chinar is part of Varna’s identity. Over the years, it has become a byword for generous, welcoming cooking that puts you at ease from the moment you walk in. Whichever location you choose, you’ll find the same care and attention.
The menu brings together traditional Bulgarian recipes,
Balkan influences and the grilled specialities that have become its calling card. Staria Chinar gets different generations around the same table. Visitors, locals, families and groups of friends all feel at home.

This is a natural extension of Staria Chinar’s philosophy: a love of good food and respect for tradition. The focus is different, though. Instead of sitting down in the restaurant, you can take its flavours home. Step inside and it feels like
a food lover’s paradise.
The counters hold selected meat delicacies, handmade specialities and home-style products with character and a story behind them. It’s a place for anyone who enjoys discovering something new while appreciating well-loved recipes.

Imagine going back to childhood and tasting your grandmother’s cooking again. Varna’s Chisto i Prosto, whose name means “pure and simple”, aims to take you there. Recipes come from parents and grandparents. You won’t find global brands here, but you will find familiar flavours and the comfort of home. The idea is to serve home-style food and
remind us, without any fuss, that simple things are often the real thing.
The saying “That’s what your grandmother used to eat” rings true here. Only the setting departs from the old village kitchen: simple, stylish interiors, Bulgarian music and a warm welcome accompany food made with care. Many ingredients are produced specifically for the restaurant, whose founders put freshness and quality first. Look out for Etar soft drinks, lemonade and Prosto Bira beer with an old-fashioned spirit. Make yourself at home.
