Privacy
This policy explains how GoGuide handles personal data, what your choices are and how to get in touch with us about your information.
Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is HIGH END PUBLISHING EOOD, company registration number 201674146, at 145 G. Rakovski Street, entrance B, first floor, apartment 4, Sofia, Bulgaria.
For privacy enquiries, contact Gergana Georgieva at gery@hiend.bg or call +359 2 960 31 00. You can also write to office@goguide.bg.
What information does this policy cover?
Personal data means information that identifies you or can be linked to you. Depending on how you interact with GoGuide, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, IP address and online identifiers. If you contact us, it also includes the information you choose to share in your message.
Website activity can include the pages you visit, time spent reading or watching videos, and interactions with advertising. An online identifier does not have to reveal your name to count as personal data. We do not describe analytics data as anonymous simply because it does not contain a name.
Why personal data is processed
Personal data is used to provide and maintain our services, respond to enquiries, understand how the website is used and support advertising. Each use needs an applicable legal basis under data protection law.
Consent is required for optional cookies and similar tracking where the law requires it. Processing needed to respond to a request about a contract may instead be based on taking steps at your request before entering into that contract, or on performing it. Legal obligations can also require us to process or retain particular information. These grounds are not interchangeable, and using the website does not by itself mean that you have consented to optional tracking.
Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files stored on your device. They can help a website work, remember choices and measure activity. Session cookies normally expire when the browser session ends; persistent cookies can remain until they expire or are deleted. Cookies and similar technologies can involve personal data.
Strictly necessary technologies support a service you have requested. Optional technologies used for analytics or personalised advertising require your consent where applicable. The Privacy preferences control provides the available choices and information about the cookies and services concerned.
You can change or withdraw consent through Privacy preferences. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You can also manage cookies in your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect how a service works.
The Bulgarian newsletter
GoGuide’s email newsletter is in Bulgarian and is offered through the Bulgarian website. The English edition does not offer a newsletter or collect newsletter subscriptions.
Who may receive your information?
Information may be handled by service providers supporting the website, communications, audience measurement and advertising, as relevant to the service and your choices. Details of optional cookie-based services are provided through Privacy preferences. Providers’ roles depend on the particular processing: a provider acting on our instructions is not necessarily acting in the same role when it processes information for its own purposes.
We may also disclose information where required by a valid legal obligation or a lawful request from a competent authority. A link to another website takes you to a service governed by its own privacy information.
Protecting information and international transfers
We are responsible for applying appropriate safeguards to personal data. No website or method of transmission can promise absolute security.
Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, an applicable transfer mechanism and any necessary safeguards must be in place. Information about the relevant arrangements and how to obtain details of safeguards can be requested using the contact details above.
How long information is kept
There is no single retention period for every type of information. Relevant considerations include why it was collected, whether an enquiry or service remains active, applicable legal record-keeping obligations and whether information is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
A cookie’s expiry date describes how long that cookie remains on your device. It does not necessarily describe how long information already collected through it is kept by a service provider. Cookie duration information is available through Privacy preferences; you can contact us about the retention arrangements relevant to your information.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, have data erased or restrict processing. You may also have the right to receive data in a portable format and to object to processing. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in the GDPR. You can object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing at any time.
To make a request, use the contact details above. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including Bulgaria’s Commission for Personal Data Protection.
