Hello, November!
Have you noticed how the day after Halloween seems to turn straight into Christmas? Let's not erase November from the calendar quite so quickly. Whatever the shops would have us believe, there's still plenty of time before the end of December. First, we'd like to enjoy autumn in full swing, and everything it has to offer. This week's picks cover a pretty broad spectrum: heavy metal, techno, festivals and pop-up shopping. We love the city in all its guises, and this season suits it beautifully. Round up your friends and make a date with these events.
KOVACS
3 November, Sofia Live Club

After an impressive appearance at Sofia Live Festival in 2024, Dutch artist KOVACS returns to Sofia for her first solo club show in Bulgaria. With her rich, dark and intensely expressive voice, she has spent years building a musical world in which
soul, noir, alternative pop and cinematic drama
come together in something unmistakably hers. Her return offers a rare chance to get close to an artist who makes every song feel like a film, and every performance an intense, hypnotic encounter. Find tickets here.
Modestep
6 November, FOMO

Josh Friend arrives in Sofia with two mysterious masked members for a club show. Following a run of sold-out European dates on their first tour of the continent in over a decade,
Modestep are entering a heavier, darker chapter
with their biggest European headline tour yet. Bulgarian DJ and producer Moshino opens the night with a warm-up set featuring his own music and tracks from his forthcoming project A New Universe Is Born. Get tickets here.
URIAH HEEP
6 November, Arena 8888 Sofia

The Magician's Farewell tour celebrates 55 years of rock history with a stop in Sofia. Led by Mick Box, Uriah Heep return to Bulgaria for a final show packed with their best-known songs. With their formidable live performances and enduring hits,
Uriah Heep helped shape British heavy metal and progressive rock.
This farewell tour brings the band's global touring career to a close. There's still a chance to see these legends live. Find tickets here.
TECHNO ZONA 002
7 November, KUPE

The line-up: CARMEN [RO], VIKTORIJA [DJ SHOP] and ANGL. From Bucharest to the local underground, three DJs bring their own identities to the floor, speaking one shared language: techno. No trend-chasing, no formula. A culture built on sound. Repetition. Darkness.
The pulse that gets into your body before your mind has worked out why.
Is it escape or confrontation? Do we lose ourselves in the sound, or find the parts of ourselves that everyday life keeps hidden? Techno asks no questions and demands no answers. It simply exists. Come and exist with it.
SIMPLE Pop-up Outlet Store
6–8 November, nOva art space

The pop-up returns for a second edition, bigger, with more brands and a new home right in the centre of Sofia. For three days, nOva Art Space becomes a temporary shop for Bulgarian fashion, bringing local designers and independent labels together under one roof. This isn't your standard seasonal sale. Expect
archive collections, last pieces, samples and prototypes,
past-season pieces and carefully chosen finds with discounts of up to 80%. There'll be clothes, accessories and plenty to rummage through, alongside a special selection of jewellery, beauty products and the finishing touches that make an outfit. Each participant has put together something specifically for the event.
OpenFest 2026
7 and 8 November, INTERPRED WTC Sofia

OpenFest is more than an event: it's a community that wants to build, teach and have a good time. This year's motto is TBD, or 'to be decided'. Why? As the organisers put it, we live in interesting times, with no shortage of ideas about what might happen or what we should do.
Perhaps things will change. Perhaps they'll stay the same.
Or perhaps something so fundamental will happen that today's worries will disappear altogether. The organisers aren't pretending to know the answer. Their invitation is to come and work it out together. Talks, workshops and conversations with fellow visitors are all part of the experience.
