Dinner out with the children? Entirely possible

We love a long evening at a favourite restaurant.

Sometimes that means less time with the children. It doesn’t have to. If a restaurant outing where everyone leaves happy sounds impossible, this selection is for you. Add somewhere to play to good food and a family evening starts to look more appealing. At these three restaurants,

younger guests have a space of their own,

while parents can enjoy a few quieter moments. Besides, the next generation of food lovers has to start somewhere. Bring the children along.

La Rocca

La Rocca means a fortress on a rock; behind the name is a little piece of Italy. The restaurant is part of Boby & Kelly amusement park, covering 5,200 square metres with more than 30 attractions.

While the children explore the park, you can explore the cooking of Veneto.

Seasonal produce comes from small Bulgarian farms, while olive oil, cheeses, mozzarella, cured meats, pasta and flour arrive from Italy. Add pizza and you’re almost there. The winter hours announced from October were Monday to Friday, 16:00 to 22:00, and weekends, 10:00 to 22:00.

Savage Garden

Dinner out with the children? Entirely possible

At Savage Garden, appetite has plenty of territory to explore. European cooking draws on carefully selected ingredients: meat from selected American farms, vegetables from the Kresna Gorge, farm cheese from Koprivshtitsa and seasonal Black Sea fish from around Balchik. More than 60 wines and a cocktail list encourage dinner to last a little longer. The space covers two levels, with a large garden and terrace for warmer months, a private room for up to 20 and its own parking. While you work through the menu,

Savage Garden Junior welcomes little adventurers aged one to eight

with an activity host, trampoline, slides, a ball pit and more obstacles to explore. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant also has space for family celebrations and corporate events. The wild side seems quite well brought up.

Staria Chinar

Beside the park, Staria Chinar on Shipchenski Prohod Boulevard combines a modern interior with a mountain retreat’s warmth and its familiar hospitality. The kitchen favours traditional recipes, oven-cooked and charcoal-grilled dishes, fresh Black Sea fish, accomplished beef specialities and plenty more.

It makes a small city escape for the whole family,

with a large, convenient car park and a children’s area that can be reserved for a special occasion. Children’s birthday parties can come with their own themed decoration.
